Care & Maintenance

Upkeep

  • Show your new piece with pride, but handle it with care.

  • Please protect it, especially around small children and animals.

  • Careless hands and wagging tails can damage your art.

  • Children should only touch or hold it under supervision.

  • Your sculpture has a coat of wax to protect its finish.

  • Dust as needed with a feather duster or its equivalent.

Repair

Scratches

  • Your carving has a coat of wax to protect the finish.

  • You can often make small scuffs disappear by applying a thin coat of furniture or paste wax.

  • Let it harden, and then buff the affected area with a soft cloth.

Breaks

  • I may be able to restore the piece. A photo will help me decide.

  • You can try to repair it yourself. If it breaks, save all the parts and brush off any dust.

  • Apply glue sparingly to each surface and push them snugly together.

  • Wipe off any excess glue while keeping firm pressure on the break.

  • Reapply wax if needed.
